Neat Trick

Say you’re at your command prompt and want to send a quick email. The usual routine would be to

Hit Start

Click All Programs

Click Microsoft Office

Click Outlook

Click new message

Type said message

Alternatively you can hit windows+r and type the following as the command

mailto:santa@gmail.com?Subject=Presents&Body=I am deeply dissatisifed

Tell me that’s not cool!

  1. Here’s an alternative to what you describe.
    1) Create a new shortcut somewhere on your pc (make sure it’s somewhere it wont get deleted)
    2) Set the location of the shortcut to “mailto:”
    3) Set the Shortcut key in the Properties of the shortcut to Ctrl Alt S (or any other shortcut key you prefer)
Now when ever you press Ctrl Alt S, a new email message window will popup

  2. That’s so retro-1996-cool.
